The greatest anime ever to bless a television/computer screen period.  None of the kids today will ever experience this masterpiece or anything remotely close to it considering the current state of stations like Nickelodeon which constantly bombards us with mindnumbing, pointless cartoons.  With the most spellbounding animation and entrancing soundtrack, this series is timeless and has more relevance than ever as the fifth sun sets.  Contact me for episodes or music! Indeed, our time has just begun children of the sun... :]

Love the site.  One of the best cartoons ever made.  It will forever be one of my favourites along side Prince Valiant and Thundercats.

I love the show, I remember seeing it first when i was a kid.  Im in Melbourne Australia like alot of people who posted here.  I have been franticly trying to get a copy of it.  If only they put it back on TV here.  Cheers!

cities of gold was the best cartoon ever made.  i used to have this huge crush on esteban *blush* when i was 6!! its such a shame they never released it in english on video, i was lucky to get hold of a home made copy though.  to sum up, this was the best cartoon ever made, at least the french are keeping it alive!

24 years old watched the MCOG when it was on BBC in the 80's the best cartoon ever.  The detail and storylines were/are brilliant.  If anyone has them on VCD/Video and lives in the UK I would love to get hold them so please email me!

I'm 23 now & I remember clear as day, running out into my driveway (in my jelley shoes of course) singing the theme song from the show (which I can still hum...but don't know the words) wishing to God that I could go with those kids on their adventures.  Maybe this show is what spawned my great love of ancient civilizations & my passion for seeing ruins in Mexico.

633.  Gierek
Does anybody know where or how can i download this cartoon??

632.  Will Kelsey Thanks for keeping this going!

When I was about 8 (Now pushing 26)this awesome show hit our screens, then it just disappeared never to be seen again.  What a shame that the children of today have to miss out on such a legendary series.  If they can bring out Voltron and Transformers onto VHS and DVD they can surely they can do the same for MCOG.
Please,please,please,please bring it back!

Bonjour! J'aime beaucoup regarder les cités d'or.  Je suis de la nouvelle génération de fan des Cités d'Or.  Puisque c'était l'émission favorite de ma maman aussi quand elle était petite.
Bravo et merci aux auteurs!!!

This show has been shrouded in the hazy memories of my childhood for far too long.  Hearing the theme song again honestly brought tears to my eyes.  Ridiculous! I know.  Yet this show and the wonderful world it created for me remains one of the happy memories of my childhood.  Like many who hold this show’s memory dear, I am 22 now, and The Mysterious Cities of Gold has become that rare childhood touchstone; it was more than a television show.  I wish children today could have the same kind of quality programming we had then.  It will be missed.  Never forgotten!

I was watching tv the other day with my baby cousins (ones 3 the other's 5).  We were watching Fox Kids on Sky when all of a sudden they were showing Uylsses 31.  I tell you that brought back memories and then I remembered this series, I remembered how I used to try and never miss and episode and how I always talked about it with my friends.
Since remembering this and many other great cartoons I watched as a child I decided to buy them all on dvd or video however I can barely find them all anywhere, I only just found the MCoG DVD at www.uavco.com however they are saying to me that they cannot ship it to me which is somewhat distressing!!!
Anyway enough jabbering just making my point that this was and is an all inspiring show (which I never got to finish ).

I was born in 1978 and used to watch this show on nickelodeon all the time.  I can't believe this list exists.  To this day I have only met one person who can actually verify that the cartoon actually existed.  I remember being dumbfounded when they abruptly cancelled the show after finding only one city.  Probably the greatest tv-related disappointment of my young life.  Am also a great fan of Belle and Sebastian!

Hi all!
I'm 21, born in 1982, and I'm from Sydney, Australia. Some of my fondest childhood memories are racing home from kindergarten in 1987 to watch MCoG on the ABC (I think it was on the afternoon show with James Valentine???).  Then my Mum made me take ballet lessons and I never found out what happened in the end!!!! But PLEASE dont tell me... will be buying the whole set to finally find out after 16 years of mystery!!

618.  Sarah Blinco

There will never be a greater cartoon than the mysterious cities of gold.  In my eyes it's legacy will reain forever.  I remeber watching it when i was young, and well it was great.  It got mw hooked on flying machines and the Inca's for the rest of my life.

I am a 20-year-old student at the university of connecticut, and this show holds an indelible place in my subconscious.  I have spent years asking everyone I know if they have heard of "some show about a city of gold," not remembering the title.  I thought it was perhaps nothing more than a figment of my youthful imagination.  But, finally, my roommate mentions this show.  It is truly weight off my shoulders.  This is a wonderful site.  Keep our childhood history alive!

what can i say, mcog is just the best animated show ever made.  the story the music and the whole atmosphere inspired me as a child.  kids of today dont know what they are missing!

602.  Amir
This is simply the best TV show ever created. I would very much like to see a grand Hollywood-Pruduced Movie Trilogy made of this series with famous hollywood actors as our heros(Leonardo Decaprio as Esteban, Hugh Jackman as Mendoza, ect.) but the soundtrack must stay! It will get the oscar for sure!

I watched this show as a kid, but didn't get to finish it.  There are not too many shows that inspire you the way the shows of this era did.  I wish they would re-air this to show kids of today what a good cartoon is all about.  A real adventure that was concluded what more could you ask for.  One of these days I'll watch them all instead of read episode desriptions.
