500. Dean Nadin Good site mate. I have one but it needs updating. this URL takes you to my forum board where you can chat with other MCoG fans. http://pub31.ezboard.com/bthefirstcityofgold
499. Tober I have all 39 episodes on VCDs if anyone is interrested. I currently live in Australia, and love this show so much, I'd love to spread it around. Anywhere in the world, if interrested just email me. tober27@hotmail.com
498. Andrew Ball I grew up on MCoG and it just gets better and better every time i see it
497. Cabell Such a great show. One day, some smart network will bring it back in the states.
496. jimee fantastic show, i still love it:)
495. Richard Lee (http://wastedmind.net/) I love MCOG, and give praise to all sites that keeps its memory alive.
the quality of this
cartoon compaired to the mass produced poor quality garbage children watch today is beyond reconing,
take a look at anything on cartoon network and you will see what I mean, they should be ashamed of
themselves.
494. Simon Slade We must get MCoG on DVD in english released!
I have all 39 episodes in english on VCD! Interested? E-mail me!
493. jonny A good site, I enjoyed revisiting my youth
492. Barry (http://users.belgacom.net/mcog/) i simply love mcog, i have a site with a forum and i invite everyone to join the community
491. Aaron t I have loved MCOG ever since I saw it as an 80's child in Australia. Unfortuantely I was young
and had problems remembering it all. I still had ep 5 on vhs and I watched it yr in and yr out
until this yr when I got a set of vcd's. The magic has returned to my life and touched me once
again. I love this show in it's entirety but mainly for it's limitless sense of adventure with
no thought to being politically correct or inoffensive. If only childrens programs were like this
today, we would not have as many psycho's out there. Yours in never ending youthfullness [which
is oft mistaken for immaturity] Aaron child of the Sun
490. Nathan Holden (http://homepages.enterprise.net/cdiom/)
489. Sara Collier i would love to be able to get the series on video if any one has a copy i would love to have it.
488. Richard (http://come.to/myfinalheaven) Hi, I'm 18 and I live in Holland. I used to watch MCoG every day when I was like 6 or something.
I still remember I couldn't see the end because I had to go on a holiday... After 12 years I
started downloading and now I have all 39 eps ^_^ and MCoG still rules!!
487. ferzan
486. Eyal Malkovich (http://www.nitrog.f2s.com/) Nice site man!
Brings back nostalgie!
485. Jeremy Douglas
484. Tahrey (http://www.thingy.somewhere.net/) The big T's is 18, comes from behhrmingum originaluy, and is a student waster. He is one of
what appears to be a legion of people bemoaning the rubbish on the box these days at kids TV
time (the sole saviours being Teletubbies (for preschoolers), The Tribe (on channel 5) and
whatever that thing was with the parrot I saw yesterday - scraping the barrel! Oh yeah and
that Jackie Chan program has odd moments of glory). Really wish I could be a little more
positive about it, but it is sodding dire, right? (waits for cheer of approval). OK, right,
lets assume that although the 500 people who have signed here may not all be British, there
may be 500 britons wot read this board in the space of six months. How about a crowd of 500
outside BBC TV centre in London, June 1st 2002, demanding a return to decent bloody programs
rather than mass produced bobbins? (Well, of course, to be realistic - a return to a time when mass produced bobbins wasn't 100%
of the sched but maybe 2/3:). Let's all mail each other and see if it's possible. Ah, the good old days, when there was some sort of literary backing to the progs to expand younger
people's minds. Not so now, as far as I can tell, not outside the realms of the odd fairy tale and
whatever chunk of chinese culture Jackie Chan's Adventures can rope in (please someone prove me
wrong). What was it? Licensing restrictions? Lack of merchandising possibilities? (just imagine
trying to push the concept of a willie fogg playset)... or the fact that - what in my view was
possibly what happened to get it axed - Este & Tao do a bit of skinny dipping in the episode I
put on earlier. Not that you see anything of course, but it might put evil seeds in young minds
in a way that Dragonball Z simply can't..
483. Nitin Mangalath I love this series - I watched it when I was six years old, and I recently downloaded the whole series and watched it again (now I understand a bit more of what's going on at 20:). I agree that it is much better than all the brain-dead cartoons that have been shown since.
482. TC Everette I have MCoG on VCD ready to sell.
481. Jennie Wiik
480. Lauren M. Albenice See my original profile, I am fan #10. (Written almost six years ago when this was still Tyrone's site!) I am still a huge fan! I now teach Spanish to 7th and 8th grades, and would love to share this awesome series with them. Please email me if you
know where I can obtain the series either dubbed or subtitled in Spanish. MCoG forever!
479. Bly this was one of my fav. cartoons when I was a kid, and it sure beats a lot of the garbage they call cartoons now. To bad they don't play this anymore... well not in Canada at least.
478. Josh Hi, I have all 39 episodes in vhs (English) for 69.95 + 7.00 shipping
if anyone is interested. E-mail me at jsmason@eiu.edu. I have a picture
of the tapes I could e-mail as well.
477. gazza-child of the sun (www.geocities.com/gazza310) i love this show roll on a dvd version of this series
476. Dan I'm 24 and I remember watching The MCOG on Mickelodeon back in the 80's. It
wasn't unrtil recenly, that I remembered how much I loved the series. In my
humble opinion, it's the greatestcartoon ever made. They just don't make shows
like this anymore, and I hope and pray that it finds its way back onto US
television soon. I recently purchased the entire series off of e-bay, and fell
in love with it all over again. However, I had problems with one CD, and other
episodes won't play, so, I'm keeping an eye out for the series on VHS. If anyone knows how I can purchase it, please e-mail me.
475. Chris Roussias (http://www.apollo-tv.fsnet.co.uk/) Isn't it remarkable how many fans want information on how to download or buy
the videos to the series? In a way we're all like the Spaniards, feverish in
yearning to find the cities of gold.
474. Lantie
473. Luke (http://www.geocities.com/lucas_1_uk/) I love watching MCoG, I wish it could be repeated, it was the best thing on TV at the time.
472. Mand (http://all.at/mandsmcog/) I love tMCoG, I used to watch it when I was only three. It was really cool because I watched it at my day-care
while everyone else had to take a nap, but I didn't have to because that was when my mom would come to pick me up.
I just love this show so much, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy!
471. Eric Big hello to all you MCoG fans out there. Yes! when MCoG was aired here in Australia back in 1986 I would
be spell bound by the show every afternoon after show. Mere words can not express the inspirational
energy that was released in the MCoG series. I hope it returns to viewing screens worldwide very soon. Viva la MCoG!!:-D
470. William Rees Hi I am from London in England and i haven't seen the mysterious cities of gold for about 10 years and im
desperate to buy the series on videos' so ne who can get me some can they e-mail me Cheers. I just
like to say i've never seen a cartoon as good as Mysterious Cities of Gold and the web site has
brought back some wicked memories
469. Entry removed by request of the original author
468. Simon L (http://liulian.iscool.net) I thought i was the only person left in the world to ever notify the presence of MCoG until i found your site! WOW!!! Well done! Thank you! You preserved my memory of my childhood.
467. Rin Kuhn As a child of the eighties, Cities of Gold is still fresh in my memories:)
466. Fabiola Casse MCoG FOREVER !
465. Gondoa (http://web.ukonline.co.uk/edrfranklin/) The Mysterious Cities of Gold remains one of my
all time favourite anime cartoons. I don't know why.
Perhaps, looking back, I can see the huge impact it
has had one me....Such a linear storyline, and the
longevity and appeal that most 'modern' cartoons lack.
The MCoG had a strong feel of realism and
believability that you only get with anime. Most
modern cartoons are badly drawn and in the cause of
South Park, rely on crudeness and volgarities rather
than animation and story quality. It's shocking to see
six and seven year olds using language and reinacting
what they have learned from South Park. Mysterious
Cities of Gold for one thing is far better for
children. It certainly made me what I am. It's just a
shame that this sort of cartoon is not continued to be
made.
Everything from here and below was taken over from Daniel Slatford, until the next thick horizontal line.
464. GregD Im another Greg ;) I watched MCOG back in the 80s, always admiring it for its
great story telling and incredible images of far off lands.. I recently purchased the whole series to relive those fond
child hood memories. I think it's one of my main influences
in life in the way I percieve it. The music of the show
truly inspires me sometimes. The visuals of the cartoon I
believe went on to inspire other artists who create the
current anime shows (japanese animation). In short MCOG was the best cartoon of the 80s and without
a doubt will live on in the memory of so many people.
463. Macky I used to watch MCoG when i was about 7 and i loved it ... bring it back:)
462. Dean Roffie Loved the show when I was a kid.CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHERE
I CAN BUY THE ENTIRE SERIES ON VIDEO/DVD IN THE UK OR USA
AND HOW MUCH IT MAY COST ME. VIA THE CITIES OF GOLD
461. Aaron I loved this show when I was a kid!!! I'm 16 now, but
does anyone know where I could even get copied tapes of
the eps recorded in english off tv? I will gladly pay!
460. dan johnson this brings back the memories of old. I remember this
and brings back childhood memories!!!
459. james mccray M.C.O.G. is my all time favorite cartoon show since I have
seen it on Nickelodeon channel when I was in the fifth
and sixth grade. Right now I am 21 and I just want to
know if anyone remembers it other than me. So far I have
not found anyone. If anyone wants to e-mail me and tell
me please do so. I would love to know someone else who
knows about this show.
458. Phil Budas I am so chuffed to have found this site. I can't remember
how young I was when I used to rush home from primary
school to watch this program. None of my mate can remember
MCOG, and to tell you the truth I couldn't even remember
the name but I must have watched just about every episode.
I have read the comments on this board and like me,
everybody else wants to see a return of this programme
instead of the garbage that kids have to watch now. Look
at Pokémon, its trying to match what MCOG was, but what
are they searching for? What is their quest? To catch all
the Pokémon and be the Pokémon master. Hmmm... compare
that to a quest to find a hidden city of gold with golden
ships and ancient cities, with real issues and well... I
know what I would rather watch. Kids Tv today is terrible,
if they re ran MCOG it would be doing kids worldwide
justice for all the crap they have to watch now. Its
amazing that you people have taped this programme and
made thse webpages and I thank you for giving me the
chance to relive my childhood.
457. mark patterson The MCoG was and still is the best cartoon series ever
made. I was about nine or ten when it first aried on uk
tv on the bbc. Its been nearly 5 years since I last saw
it. It was on the childrens channel on satelight and I
came across it purley by chance. Unfortunatly it was near
the end of the series when I last saw it. It has therefore
been almost 9 years( I am now almost 19) since I saw it
for the first time, and I wish the bbc would air it again. Long Live The Cities of Gold!
456. carrie dove I thought my life was complete before but now I am in a
state of bliss. Many a happy hour has been spent in Fylde
college bar discussing the wonder that is the MCoG. I
think its the memory of my first love Philip Schofield
singing the theme tune on CBBC (my taste in men has since
drastically improved) that really did it for me.
455. jen heaton I was surprised to find this site! I use to watch it as a
6 year old and it had to be my favorite favorite! I've been
searching high and low for it as I got older. I'm hoping
to find quicktime movies of it.
454. Luke (http://www.whyalla.net.au/~eygenram/) my childhood just seems to be like that bar of soap in the bath that gets harder to grasp each time you try. I cannot explain the nostalgia experienced here. I thought
i was the only one. I last remember seeing the show on a
videotape at my cousin's house, at least 10 years ago. It
used to be on the ABC's Afternoon Show hear in Australia..
followed by the Goodies or Dr. Who.. and preceded by You
Cant Do That On Television or something similar.. i
especially loved the live photos of the Andes they would
include at the end. Clearly, the maintainer of this site should set up a trade
forum so that we can relive our childhoods, the most
important 10 years of anyone's life. -luke, 18 (born 1981) South AUSTRALIA
453. Mark Cambruzzi Man, im 21 from Melbourne huge fan, and boy am I glad that
from the second episode when it aired on the ABC i decided
to tape every episeode! Probably worth a bit a money, sadly
though on Beta and not VHS. But I have a beta so enjoy. I
go through the series usually once a year. Awsome
452. j i cant believe i finally find this site.... i have always
been emailing abc (the channel in which city of gold aired
on) & asking them where i can get the video or any info
about the mcog BUT they never replied and i thank You for
making this site for others to see. (*_*)
451. Steve Zenitin Harbison (http://www.inlink.com/~steveh1/) Esteban <- -> Steve(Stephen) What more need I say? You know the series ^_~ Hey thats me!! (age 3-31-1979)
