I remember watching this superb series on the BBC whilst I was at secondary school.  I really hope that one day the series will be screened again in it's entirety.

It's much better than the junk shown these days.  Such a shame that videos of Cities of Gold aren't available in the UK.

I'd love to get a copy of the series.

446.  Kasha
I grew up on the MCOG, and the show has haunted me ever since.  I'm sure I don't need to go into too much detail of why it is the best show on the face of this planet, if you're a true fan you'll know my reasons.  Guys, never forget the legend of this rare tv series!!

445.  Brian Healey
hello

444.  gemma
Hey, im gonna say the same as everyone else...I cant believe that there are this many fans out there!

I used to watch MCOG aged about 8, and hearing that tune again was wicked.  cool site!

443.  Eve
I never realied that the cities of gold had such a fan base. Because the whole series seemed so mysterius and fantastic to me when I first saw it I wouldn't have been serprised if it had been an exterordiary dream.  That's why I was a little taken aback when I looked it up on the net and found so many fan sites (I dug out the videos that I hadn't watched for years and am having MCoG marathon).  I'm just up to the bit with the magic fountain and the lake filled with gold sand.  Evil lady has just elerted the villagers to Mendosa trying to flod thier town...  (oh god, it's all so exicting I think I'll go and have a lie down)

Would love it if other fans wanted to contact me.  I'd love to talk to sombody else about it.  The MCoG is the one tv series that totally rocked my world when I was young (and still does)

At last a shrine to possibly the greatest show that there ever was, and probably ever will be! I was born in 1981 and I will never forget this programme until the day I die! Long live Mysterious Cities of Gold!!!

441.  gonzo
with fail I would run to the bus stop afetr school to make sure that nothing could make me late for the mysterious cities of gold.....almost cried with joy tonight when I heard the theme tune for the first time in over 10 years.....

439.  Michelle Hunter
I watched this show when I was about 7 or 8 years old.  Even then I knew it was beautiful and it led to my appreication for weel-done anime.I miss this and other classic 80s cartoons and would really like to see it again.

438.  PJ
The first time I saw this, I was just over 6 years old, and I remember loving every second.

Over a decade passed with me mourning for my loss, but three weeks ago, I managed to get my hands on some episodes! Bliss!

When I got to Sheffield university last year, I couldn't believe that no one else could remember MCoG at all and I am currently re-educating them all!

437.  David Tice
this has to be the one true use of the internet, never before has it held such valuable information.  Even though MCoG left British screens 11 years ago it has remained part of my life and it even rivals Bagpuss in my top ten. For years I've been asking people to help me remember how MCoG finished and so far the only help has come from a guy who I met on the banks of the Thames at 23:50 31/12/99, he helped fill in a few gaps but the end still escapes me.

I'm trying to encourage everyone I know to join the petition and if this fails the only option left is a rain of fire and brimstone on the BBC (alternatively I could perfect my french and buy those copies but I feel I should remain faithful to the memory I have of MCoG from all those years ago)

436.  sar bear
this was the best cartoon ever nothng comes close!
It is a shame that there are no imediate plans to release it on DVD.

Does anyone have any idea if it is on video(legaly).?

435.  Dan Gilmour
Hi! I have looked for a site like this for ages! For some reason this program was the only thing I am able to remember from my childhood (what a great memory I have!).  I am 18 now, and I suppose I watched it when I was 7.  11 years ago. Wow, and when seeing the image gallery all these really funky memories came flooding back.  Excellent!

Anyway,
Thanks again.

434.  ian mitchell

Hi there all you Mysterious Cities of Gold fans in Australia.  We were surprised to see so many Australian fans of this series in the fan list.  We too watched the MCOG when we were younger but could not remember much about it till we come across this site.  We too would like to see this series returned to Australian Television to re-discover the magic.  We have already emailed the Bigbreakfast on the seven network to put it on their show then we are going to try the ABC.  So all you Australian fans please email the Bigbreakfast and the ABC the more we pressure them the better the result! Does anyone know where we can get the Videos on VHS.

WOW!! A place to declare my love for MCoG!!

Like many of you, MCoG is one of my favorite childhood memories and I hope somewhere, at sometime, it will be replayed on television for us to enjoy again.

this time, I'll be sure to tape them all:) The closest thing I have now is a poorly recorded audio tape of one episode that I forced my grandmother to record when I had to miss the show one day.

Feel free to e-mail me to converse about this terrific work of art.

420.  Bryson Mack
The MSOG series captured my imagination as a child in the 80s and is still to this day among my altime favorites. Its been years since I've seen an episode but viewing your site really brings back memories.

this is truly one of the greatest animated series ever made.

419.  Dan from the 21st century
Hello
I can't think of anything to say but,
Aurggggggggggg-juoooooooo

thanks
Dan

418.  James Oikawa
I really liked this show as a kid, although I only saw the French version.  Even though I only very partly understood what was going on, I really liked the music and the storyline involving the ancient cultures/civilizations of South America.  I had only seen from around ep.24 to the end when I watched it when I was about 12 or so, and just recently a friend of mine had some english tapes of episodes 1 to 16, so that was pretty good, because I had never seen those ones before.  Sure, just reading synopses are okay, but watching them is so much better.

The video quality was a little bad, but that didn't matter. I just hope he can find me some more! ^_^

417.  Sexy Sahar
Do you know what? I can't honestly say that I remember any specific events in 'Cities of Gold' - only the general gist of things - that a bunch of kids had somehow got hold of a golden eagle and that they were in search of a place with lots of gold.  Well, you may be wondering why I'm here. Basically, I have for the past God knows how many years not been able to stop thinking about that theme tune.  It simply rocks, and thats why I want to see the greatest cartoon series ever back on screen!

416.  Neil Ogden
It would be great to see the series back so that it could be enjoyed by a whole new generation of viewers.  My site is all about my radio version of MCoG and the fan fiction sequel Bond of Pain plus an accompanying documentary about the series.

415.  ROLANDO RUIZ
I WANT TO ADDED TO THE MAILING LIST OF THE MYSTERIOUS CITIES OF GOLD

414.  sparkesy_2000
Its strange to think that there are other people in the world who think that The M Cities of Gold are as cool as I do

413.  Peter Peace (http://www.angelfire.com/ca4/PeterPeace/MCoG.html)
Sigh! What good times.  Being a kid.  No worries, full of imagination, bunch of toys, and Mysterious Cities of Gold. What a brilliant work of art.  Waking up at 6:00 in the morning to watch the Golden Condor fly to an adventure was the greatest.  I even had the Golden Condor toy, along with Zia, Tao, & especially Estaban figures.  If rumors of The Mysterious Cities of Gold II are true, I hope it's not like the new Speed Racer or anything dumb.  They should get most of the original animators and voices to do it.  We all don't want a MCoG to turn out like that new computer animated Voltron.  EeEEewwwWW! Anyone who has a copy of The Mysterious Cities of Gold CD, then call me.  760-329-8843. I really would like a copy.  I have hundreds of rare punk rock vinyl I can record.  -PEACE-

412.  Brandon Novy
Wow.  This site sure brings back a lot of memories. I hardly remember anything about the show, but I was surprised that after 10 years I still remember the opening song and the kids' names.  I'm glad to see that there are so many other fans.

411.  J the jp price

410.  Andy Spotkins
BRing it back, sing it back, bring it back, bring it back and sing.  Its legendary we want more.

409  Carolyn
I can't believe there are so many Cities of Gold fans out there.  Hi everyone.  Like many of you I loved the series when it was on here in England, but no-one else seems to remember it.  Love the web site too!

408.  adrian bailes
i would love to speak with anyone who enjoys this series as much as me

407.  Michelle
Dear fans in the U.K.,

If you really want to see this great cartoon again or purchase it on video, please write to the BBC, by checking out their website and clicking on feedback.  Then very strongly express your views as to wanting to see this cartoon again or purchase it on video.

and together with enough interest we might just see this classic cartoon again!

406.  Jake Grimley (http://www.newwave.co.uk)
I always used to like the series,

Last night I had some very strange dream about it.  I asked people at work if they rembered it and then looked on the Internet, to see if anyone else out there still remembered ten years on..

Great Web site.

405.  Alex Golden
It's been such a long time since I've seen the show!

I would watch it all the time on Nick when I was a kid (one of the best shows they have ever run, IMHO)...

Glad to see there are websites dedicated to it!

404.  Sloane Eljay
The Mysterious Cities of Gold is the greatest animated series ever made.  I think we all must miss it terribly by now, especially me, because I thought it would always be on TV and so didn't bother to tape any of the episodes and have hated myself for it ever since.  (10 long years..!) I love that show so much and would pay almost anything to own all the episodes in their original form.  Please, guys, send email to those people and ask them to make it available on videocassette.  Fortunately we have some great internet sites like this one to honor such a wonderful series.

403.  Sean
It's just so mindjunkingly fabulous to have found this site.  The images all golden childhood halos and superreal memories of my forgotten days after school on the sofa with my brother watching the condor charge up.  So warm the glow of childhood, so oft it fades too fast.  Somebody mail me to share the joy that can be felt for these golden treats of experience.

402.  Jo and Marie
We are so chuffed that MCoG is on the net.  We loved it to bits and we have just listened to the theme tune and its smart.  We love Esteban.  Ra,Dudes,Raaaaa!!!
