Hi all! I am an American and I remember watching this show every day while it was on for a couple years.  Alicia, you watched Bell also?

MCoG and Bell & Sebastian were the two best shows on TV in the late 80's.  Too bad no one else remembers them...

I wish they'd come back!

399.  Sirajum *Biggest - tMCoG -FAN* Ever (http://surf.to/sirajum-connected.com)
Hiya tMCoG fans.....

Hope your all okay! Its so cool to see that there are so many of us, i feel so great about it!

Yep thats right, i am the biggest Fan of tMCOG that ever lived, you may not have heard of me but soon hopefully you will be, alot.

My website (dedicated to purely tMCoG) will do most of my work for me, and i assure you it will be one of the best tMCOG sites.

When it is up and running i will give the word!

So many of us need to and want to see it again, Oh come on friggin BBC or and Non-Terrestrial channel.  -PUT IT ON AIR AGAIN - they have the gut to put on crapy cartoons that aren't even animated properly, no even better they're animation is totally cheap and not worth watching.  And not even that, with most cartoons you can guess whats going to happen, BUT with tMCog its Very very Very Very different, i feel very easy to say that it IS THE BEST Anmated cartoon EVER!!!!!!

Its nice to see all those FANS out there, Keep in contact and one day it will be back, who knows it could be our Millenium GIFT!!

You can email me too on sirajum@post.com, i would love to chat about tMCog!

Take care and See ya later FANS  - Bye now!

PS: i wonder how many times i had typed tMCoG, gosh it almost fills my message! *LOL*

It's with a breath of relief that I find this site. I have been wondering for the last 10 years since they took MCoG off of Nickelodeon what happened to it.  I used to watch it religiously, and I always wondered where it went...  I forgot about it, and then a couple of years ago, i started to remember this cartoon series that i loved so much but how would i find information on it.  it's soo good to finally find these websites. Thank you so much.  it means a lot to me that there are other people out there who loved MCoG as much as I did, and have preserved its legacy.

396.  kevin pauletti
I LOVE THE SHOW

395.  John Watson
Well what can I say....  MCoG was and probably still is one of the best cartoons to grace TV.  I can remember watching and recording the whole series on the BBC, singing the themetune with Phillip Schofield all those years ago. One thing I would like cleared up though....was a few episodes missng when showed first on BBC? Well I suppose it doesn't matter now.  That condor, oh, that ship that characters.  Pure excellence only Starfleet comes close!!!

394.  TIM HAMMOND
this is the greatest cartoon of all time.nothing can beat it .i saw this cartoon when i was young ,and now it remains in my heart.i am now 20 and i would die to see it again.  if theres away to see the english version again then praise the lord.

393.  Diarmaid Lindsay (http://des.simplenet.com)
Its a treasured memory of mine, Mcog..  I'm seeking a tape of just one episode.  Yeah, I love to see even just one! Anyone help?

392.  Aaron Hamilton (http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Rhodes/3991/OpenMinds.html)
I haven't thought of this show for years, but one mention of it and that music is stuck in my brain again.  Now I love to travel to historical sites, like the Viking site in Newfoundland, and I can blame this show for instilling such an ethic in me.  Plus, I can't read about the Olmecs without the image of semi-alien beings in strange flying machines.  (I also think about the big stone head in Homer Simpson's basement but that's for another forum).  Long live the Forgotten Gods of the "New" World!

391.  Damian Matthias Kerekes
Hola! I am from the United States and consider myself a modern day explorer.  MCOG is a very great show, and I say very since IT IS NOT A HAS BEEN and I have hope that it will once again be aired in its English version in the United States.  Although if I must, I will purchase the French copy...  besides I am currently learning the language.  Besides the cartoon's suggestion of Europeans rape and pillage of the Americas (I study political ecology), I love MCOG's exploration and geographical themes.  If I had lived at that time I would have loved to have shared the adventurs of Estabon, Mendoza and all the rest. Heck, even Magellan.  Chow!!

Excellent web site!

I first saw the Mysterious Cities of Gold ten years ago when I was living in England.  I am an American who just moved back to the United States seven years ago.  Since that time, I have made a vow to myself that I will in some how and in some way find a means to resurrect this TV show and more importantly bring to American television for more people to enjoy.  I enjoyed from the second I started watching it and I know others will as well.  I would do anything and pay anything to see that happen.  This show, more than anything, makes a statement about history and says it in a way that a child, as I was when I first saw this show, can understand. It's not just another violent or slapstick cartoon comedy. It's dramatic, at times funny, and smart.  This is the kind of TV show for kids.  The animation is magnificient and will be magnificent for all time.  At the least, the original series should be made available to the buying public.  I would more than likely pay an arm and a leg just to get the entire series.  I don't care.  I want it that badly.  Please if anyone at the BBC or anywhere else hears this.  Give the Mysterious Cities of Gold a chance. Thank you.

388.  Menator's Machine and the gold Condor

First noticed this series in 1986 on a french channel from New Brunswick Canada.  It was shown on Sunday mornings, earlier than I usually got up, therefore I missed QUITE a few episodes! Three years ago I managed to see the entire series for the first time but couldn`t tape it(elderly, senile vcr).  As of this writing, ep 38 has been taped, and ep39 is tomorrow.  But wouldn`t ya know it, I missed ep1! Hope I don`t have to wait another three years to get it! What I can get of the storyline (I don`t speak French, but can understand it a bit) it`s a very good story and the animation is above average(VERY high praise, from me)!

Now that I know the soundtrack exists in one version or other, I shall hunt it down!

382.  Katie
I really like both Esteban and Zia best.  Because they are both my age and are my two fav characters.

381.  NewPurpleAngel

I watched MCoG when I was 7 and loved it.  I watched it every day on Nickelodeon.  My friend Nicky and I always played cities of gold, and I was Esteban every time.  I was so amazed when I heard the theme song. I really wish I could see it again.  If anyone has tapes in English or knows where to get some, E-mail me.  I would be willing to pay almost anything for them.  Looking at these images brought back so many memories.  All I can say is wow.

375.  Michiel de Jonge (http://tmf.planet-d.net)

372.  CARMEN
you don't know how much this site has made my day.  I absolutly love cities of gold it is the best animation ever made.  I have searched for the tapes everywhere but i can't find them.dag namit.  I reckon the theme tune is wicked and hearing it brings back so many memories of being ickle.  i've asked everyone if they remember it and they do'nt so finding this site is wicked.

371.  Kim
I grew up watching Cities of Gold.  I have all the episodes on tape except for one.  My dad still feels guilty for missing that one episode.  I wish they would replay the series so I can get my one episode.  lol None of my friends watched the series.  I want the series so that when one day I have kids they can watch it.  I cant believe I finally found a group of people who love Cities of Gold as much as I do!

370.  Ngaire Wex
I am in love with Zia, she is so pretty, but Esteban was always going to be my 'boyfriend' when I grew up.  I watched this show from a young age (about 4) and have seen every episode at least 5 times.  this show represents my whole childhood that I have forgotten.  I thought I would never see anything of it again, but finding this site has been such an emotional experience, I have remembered a great deal about myself when I was young just from seeing your pictures.  Thank-you

369.  Paul Scott
I think MCoG is the best animated and scripted cartoon ever. I watched it all the time when it was on the BBC and later on TCC.  I always liked Master Menator as he was just trying to stop the Olmecs from dying out.
Too bad.

368.  Chuck Locuson
Wow, I couldn't choose an association because it's been ten years since I've seen any of the series, but it is one of the things I will always think about with fondness! MCofG was indeed a masterpiece to me with its beautiful animation and well crafted storyline.

367.  Catti
I remember watching MCoG when i was just a wee little thing and it was themost awesome thing in the world to me..then it went off the air, etc, and towards the end of '98, i decided it was about time to find my fave show over the net, and found this page awhile ago.  this fan list has got to be the best thing on the internet! i love it: ) in fact, it was on this list that i found the greatest person in the world, Jason ^_^

when i downloaded the theme song, i just cried..i had finally found the long lost show that no-one i knew knew about. it would be awesome of america to put MCoG back on tv, cos i miss it terribly, as does probably everyone here.

great great great great great great page this is! and all you MCoG fans out there ROCK and i love you guys!

366.  Alan Cohen
I recently came across this website and for the first time realized that I wasn't the only one for whom MCoG was the major TV show which influenced me as a kid.

I am 19 and live in Melbourne, Australia.  I am now studying law at a law school in Melbourne.  I saw the series when I was six or seven and remember being completely enthrawled with every aspect of it - the artistry, the characters, the plot, the technology and especially the title theme.  this is important to me because it brings back some very happy memories of my wonderful childhood in Australia, and I want to thank the authors of this page (and the fans) for their dedication to the experience of The Mysterious Cities of Gold.

362.  joe

I am Extreamly excited to have found this fan homepage for Mcog! I too was deeply affected by the series when it first aired. For the past few nights I've been searching the net looking for fans of the series and distribution information. If anyone has an english language copy of the series I would like to talk to you about it.

360.  Amy Wilson
I haven't seen this programme since I was six years old but it still remains my favourite cartoon of all time.  It was shown here in New Zealand in about 1989, long enough ago that my only clear memory of it was the theme tune, but still, it ment enough to me for me to look it up on the internet.  I am amazed by how much stuff there is on it here.  It's wonderful.

359.  daniel waites
MCOG is without a doubt the greatest childrens cartoon series ever made! Me and all my mates look back on it with amazement. Childrens programmes aint what they used to be! I was gutted when I read there are no plans to show it again and you can't get it on video.  I'm sure loads of people would buy it.  I can hardly remember it now, I saw it years ago.  MCOG must be resurrected in place of the crap they show kids nowadays!!!!

358.  Nicole Kelley (http://come.to/hot_jedis
Well lookie here! MCoG fans! Until a few months ago I thought I had hallucinated this series because I couldn't find anyone who remembered it.  When I stumbled upon a MCoG site, I cried, because I was so overjoyed that I wasn't crazy enough to have dreamed the whole thing up! Especially since I could sing the theme song verbatim 10 years after it aired! I even had proof, cause when I was young I made myself Zia's medallion, so I could pretend I was an Incan princess (come on, I know I'm not the only one who pretended to be Incan).  Has anyone thought of petitioning Cartoon Network to air the series? I'm sure if we showed an interest they'd consider it.

357.  Andrew Hassell (http://www.free-online.net)
cities of gold are the best

Hi! I hop this is the form you fill in to become a member of the fan club Anyways, I pic image one as MCoG was my fave show when i was young, and even though i only have all the episodes up until when Mendoza steals the cannon off Gasbard (i tink thats how you spell it).  I used to have them all but the tape broke=- ( Anyway, as iwas saying, Estaban, Tao and Zia have been a hige part of my upbringing and now I want to be an archeologist so that I can go to all the ruins of Machu Piccu etc

353.  Jean Philippe

I'm french and always a fan of the MCoG.  Writing these lines, I'm listenning to the CD...  I study geology at the university of Brest (Britanny).  I would be really happy to meet fans of MCoG (and geology of Peru, why not?) by e-mail...  Anybody wants? A très bientôt en Bretagne.  Longue vie aux Mystérieuses Cités d'Or!!!!!! Jean Philippe

352.  Anna Heathcote
The M.C.G is purely quality! My word, It really is

351.  Alicia
I really thought I was the only fan left.  None of my friends can remember the show.  I think I was about 5 or 6 when it was on Nickelodeon every morning.  I would get up at 6:00 just to see it every day (along with Belle and Sebasian and The Little Prince--I don't think I liked either of them though) Anyway, a couple of days ago I found one of my tapes from when I was little.  My dad always taped shows so my sister and could watch them over and over...But back to the story.  I was watching the tape last night, and Mysterious Cities of Gold was on it! Only one episode, though.  I still remembered the theme song and all the characters.  And the plot has been coming back to me little by little.  If anyone has any info about VHS tapes of MCoG I would love it.  This was most definitely my favorite cartoon as a child.  (I think I've seen every episode multiple times.) Anyway, this is a great site, I'm so excited that I found it.
