Various Mysterious Cities of Gold Characters

The character list below is nowhere near complete, but most of the main characters are shown with a general character description next to the thumbnail image.

Esteban
An orphan who was rescued a long time ago by the navigator Mendoza.  He wears one of the two sun medallions.  He loves adventures and is a very impulsive person.  Esteban is afraid of heights which is only strengthened by people hoisting him high up to call out the sun.

Zia
Zia is the daughter of an inca high priest.  She was kipnapped from peru and given as a present to the queen of spain.  She met Esteban when she was kidnapped for Governor Pizarro who wanted her to read the golden kippu.  Zia wears the same sun medallion as Esteban has.

Tao
Tao's ancestors originate from the empire of Heva.  He lived with his father on the Galapagos islands until he was the only one left.  Later he joined Esteban and Zia on their journey when the ship Solaris was revealed.

Mendoza
Spanish navigator for the spanish fleet.  He has travelled by ship a lot, and rescued Esteban in one of his voyages.  Mendoza knows how to make the best of a situation.  His two helpers are Sancho and Pedro.  Mendoza spent many years finding information about the Mysterious Cities of Gold, which led him to the sun medallions.

Father Rodriguez
Spanish priest in Barcelona, who adopted Esteban.  He died the day before the ship Esperanza left for the New World.

Senior Gomez
Greedy and vicious commander of the spanish armed forces.  The only thing he cares about is getting a lot of gold, no matter what he has to do to get it.  He is always followed by Captain Gaspard, who is very loyal to him.  Later both of them leave the spanish army, due to conflicts with govenor Pizarro.  The rank of Senior Gomez is higher than that of a ships captain.

Captain Gaspard
Loyal subordinate of Senior Gomez and Captain of the Guard, he also commands the spanish soldiers.  A bit rough, but not too smart, he is a very practical man with extensive knowledge of fighting and warfare.  In the long term, gold is the only thing that interests him.

Govenor Pizarro
Pizarro is the appointed governor of the entire region.  He commands the spanish invasion forces, amongst them are Senior Gomez and Captain Gaspard.  He is a very greedy man, and tries anything to accomplish his goals.

Sancho
Obese follower of Mendoza.  Sancho stutteres a lot and thinks a bit slow.  Usually he and Pedro are in trouble together, but they do whatever Mendoza wants them to do.  Sancho is a sailor at heart, but he is very much after gold.

Pedro
Skinny and loud mouthed follower of Mendoza.  Pedro is very easy to scare, and he always has second thoughts about the things he is about to do (tries to be careful).  Despite his cowardness, Pedro has certain moments when he has a lot of courage.

The Doctor
Very nasty spanish doctor.  He seems to speciliase in poisons.  Him and Marinche together with Tetiola want to reach the Cities of Gold.  He would do anything (including killing an entire village) to get gold.

Marinche
Guide and advisor to the doctor, followed by Teiola who is loyal to her.  She is very devious and she wants to get to the Cities of Gold.

Tetiola
Big and powerful warrior, but not too smart.  He is a lot more loyal to Marinche, than to the Doctor.  If Marinche wouldn't be there, he would probably not obey the Doctor at all.

Menator
Leader of the Olmecs with a lot of scientific knowledge.  He is trying to save the Olmec race from extinction.

Kalmec
Second in command of the Olmecs.  He is in charge of the Olmec army and the defense of the mountain of the burning shield.  Kalmec doesn't have some of the knowledge that Menator has, he specialises in military.

Morca
Loyal servant of Amazon Queen, she was supposed to be sacrificed by the evil Omura so that the sun could shine again.
